  • Alright all you non-believers! I just want to say that I DID it!!! I FINISHED the Big Kahuna Half Ironman. 1.2mile Swim, 56 mile bike ride, and a 13 mile run. So, I'm a half-iron maiden. Yay!!! I didn't even come in last, YAY!!! Anyway, just wanted to say that I'm so excited that I did it!!! YAY! I also still have a month to raise money for my TNT goal, so PLEASE...if you can send me some money!!
Anyway, I think I'm heading back over here to Xanga...so, see if I have more people interested in my life than over in Friendster... *sigh*

    Anyway, check you all later!

  • Hey...
So, I'm thinking I may change my blog site to Friendster where I can have my own RSS feed as well as being a little bit more exposed to other friends.
TNT training is going well...I still don't love running, but it's getting a little bit better! Anyway, I'll let you know if I do end up blogging elsewhere...hope you'll keep up with me!

    Later,

  • It's hard to believe but Dane and I just celebrated our first anniversary!  Time has just flown by!  We went up to the Eastern Sierras for the weekend and had a great time.  We went back country/cross country skiing which was a lot of fun.  I've only been once before and the conditions were horrible...this time the conditions were better though the skiis, I guess weren't really ideal.  Apparently we needed alpine skis for the terrain we were on, but I managed to survive, so...YAY!
Today Nissa managed to paw me in the eye and scratched my cornea which really sucks...so it hurts and I have drops and am supposed to wear an eyepatch...great, I look like a pirate.  Arrrri the pirate...
Other than that, the training for TNT is still in progress.  I went running today and ran 2.2 miles, which is not great in the grand scheme of things, but is fine considering I'm just getting my butt into gear.  Swimming and biking are far superior sports, in my own humble opinion...but, whatcha gonna do?
I have to say thank you to my first contributor and supporter for the triathalon...so a big THANK YOU and hugs to Jillian Kinikin (Skidmore '02).  If anyone is interested in helping me out, just visit http://www.active.com/donate/tntgla/ariana
Anyway, I think that's about it for now...my knees are getting cold from icing them with crockpot frozen dinners and I'm needing some food...

    g'nite!

  • Hey all...
Just a quick update.  I started running on Saturday and it sucks!  I hate running so much but it's great having a team around you pushing you to keep it up.  It was freakin' HOT too...it was 8 in the morning and pushing 90 out!  I was getting chills.  Oh well.  I know that it will all get better as time progresses.
Today, Dane and I swapped a swim workout for a running workout because he had huge blisters from his solo backpacking trip.  We'll try and run and bike tomorrow, but only after the heat passes...around 8pm.  Good GOD is it hot!  I swam 1500 yards which is 700 yds short of what the swim in the triathalon will be.  I'm not too disappointed seeing as how we're just starting...I am disappointed though that it took me a lot longer to swim a 500 than I could swim it in high school and college.  Hopefully over the next few months things will get better!  Other than that I'm enjoying the sore muscle feeling!
Our poor puppy was so sore from her backpacking trip with Dane...we had to get her puppy pain killers.  She appears to be feeling better now that she's had time to just rest at home.
Well, can't say that any of this is SUPER exciting to anyone but me...but, just thought I'd ramble.
I'm off to bed now.  Have a happy day tomorrow!
